Employers’ training boost

Selected employers working with training provider JTL will receive £30 per week for every extra apprentice they employ if they qualify for the Government’s financial initiative to step up training in the construction sector. Business ‘breaching data protection legislation’

Almost one in five businesses has breached the Data Protection Act (DPA) at least once according to a survey of over 500 small and medium businesses conducted by the British Standards’ Institution. Of these, nearly half said they had breached the Act on several occasions and an additional 18 per cent said they were not sure whether they had breached it or not. A ‘breach’ could refer to the illegal transfer of information to a third party, failure to hold information securely or neglect of other legal obligations.
