Our Products

As cable design and performance standards become increasingly rigorous, we go to extreme lengths to ensure our customers receive unparalleled levels of product performance.

At a time of increased incidence of non-approved cables in the marketplace, our experts examine all cable materials used for insulating, filling and sheathing, fundamental to a cable's performance and its ability to survive in demanding environments.

Our technicians design products using custom engineered polymeric compounds, frequently required to achieve challenging performance characteristics. As polymer science and materials technology take on greater importance in the cable industry, the development of technical excellence takes on new meaning for us and our customers.

Throughout the manufacturing process also, our systems meet international standards including ISO 9001 to meet changes in building standards, health and safety legislation, environmental mandates and liability issues.

This means our products are fit-for-purpose and meet and exceed all industry specification and installation requirements.

There can be no compromise when it comes to product performance and safety. If you need technical advice, or just want a consultation with one of our experts, please don't hesitate to contact us, e-mail technical@aeicables.co.uk or tel 0191 410 3111.

Construction Products Regulation

Introduction

The objective of the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) throughout the EU is to achieve the proper functioning of the markets for construction products by means of harmonised technical specifications.

Since 1st July, 2017 all cables placed on the market in the EU for the supply of electricity and for control purposes and which are incorporated in a permanent manner in construction works subject to performance requirements on reaction to fire, must meet European Standard EN 50575. This standard specifies the reaction to fire requirements as well as test and assessment methods to be used.

Cables which do not have a European Classification cannot be legally sold in the European market.

AEI Cables’ own technical experts understand this standard, and what is most relevant to guide you through this process to ensure compliance of products at every step.
